See, I told you the truth. At first I am intense, working on pictures, thinking of exciting places to walk and now look almost a month later and I am writing only once a week! So the writing every day went out the window early on but I AM STILL WALKING and DOING the FLAT BELLY DIET!!! This is an amazing accomplishment!!! And I have so much to tell you!
First I will start by letting you know that there is (OF COURSE) more than one diet focusing on BELLY FAT and the dynamics of subcutaneous versus visceral fat. The new life style I am trying is the, "Flat Belly Diet" which I am ecstatic about because you can eat "DARK CHOCOLATE and NUTS". It seems to be working. The book starts with an acknowledgement from Dr. David Katz, Director of Prevention Research Center of Yale University School of Medicine and that's good enough for me. I was telling one of my co-workers about the diet and she said, "Oh so and so is on that too", so later in the day I saw so and so told her I was on the Flat Belly diet. She said, "Oh low carbs high protein? (Sounds like ATKINS) and I reply, "NO, MUFA'S" (Monounsaturated Fatty Acids)... You have to read the book. So there you go. This will be the decade of belly diets and despite what kind of food you are told to eat the focus will be on getting rid of visceral fat. We all know the basic recipe for that is Calories eaten versus Calories burned. I have a big bum as well, but I don't think any diet that is going to just burn off my butt and nothing else. So then I googled, "belly diets". There is the Flat Belly Diet, The Belly Off Diet, The Belly Fat Diet , The Belly Fat Cure... well that enough for me.. I think the real cure is finding an eating program where you are satisfied, eating natural foods and not stimulated to binge eating. So as we continue following my progress.. I let you know if have have found my cure!
On the weekend I took a walk and saw this beautiful home. Brace yourselves, it's going to be auctioned on February 2 with a starting bid of $19,000! I want it!

Finally about my fall. Don't worry, I didn't get hurt. I was on the home stretch and you know those cute diamond shaped tiled sidewalks I showed you early on? Well one was buckled up a bit and I... well you know tripped. Isn't it amazing how time seems to slow down as you are falling. My mind raced as to how I could recover and then my mind said, "You're goin down!". Time really slowed down. I had all these thoughts, "Oh no I'm fifty and I'm falling, I might really get hurt.. What can I do. ... still in motion falling.. thinking.. I'm really big... I'm going to get hurt... then don't put your hand out ...watch out for you arm ...OMG your face....don't fall on your face.. so I managed to semi-roll. I hit the side of my wrist, forearm, upper arm and shoulder. Then I rolled onto my back and waited. I wasn't sure if I was really hurt.. well it hurt but I just didn't know how bad .. and then in my usual manner I looked up and thought, the sky is really pretty. I know some of my friends will be amused by this! SO end of story .. I"m a little sore but I survived and took another walk tonight. Next weeks exciting report will include my success for 1 whole month, an account of any weight loss and a picture of my success. Until then keep walking!
